WHAT IT IS USED FOR?

Bronchicum Elixir S syrup is a medicine of plant origin that is used for the symptomatic treatment of coughing. Bronchicum Elixir S syrup facilitates the liquefaction of thick bronchial secretion and its easier excretion.

2. BEFORE YOU TAKE BRONXICUM ELEXIR S SYRUP

Do not take Bronchicum Elixir S syrup:

in case of hypersensitivity (allergy) to thyme, primrose root or any of the other ingredients of the product (see section 6 Additional Information).

Take special care with Bronchicum Elixir S syrup

Due to the ethanol content of the syrup, it should not be used by alcoholics. For the same reason, Bronchicum Elixir S syrup should only be used after medical consultation in case of a liver disease, epilepsy, brain disease or brain injury.

If the symptoms do not improve within one week after the use of this medicine, or if your condition gets worse, you should seek medical attention or re-evaluate the treatment.

Taking other medicines

Please tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines, including medicines, obtained without a prescription. There are no known drug interactions of Bronchicum Elixir S with other medicines.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking any medicine.

Due to a lack of data, the use of Bronchicum Elixir S syrup during pregnancy and lactation is not recommended.

Bronchicum Elixir S syrup contains 5.46 vol% ethanol.

Important information about some of the ingredients of Bronchicum Elixir S syrup

For patients with diabetes mellitus, it should be taken into account that this medicine contains sucrose - 1 teaspoon (5 ml) corresponds to 0.38 HE (baking units).

3. HOW TO TAKE Bronchicum Elixir S SYRUP

Take Bronchicum Elixir S syrup always according to the instructions in the package leaflet. Please ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are unsure.

Unless otherwise prescribed, adults and children over 12 years of age receive 1 teaspoon every 2-3 hours for up to 6 times a day.

Children over 4 years of age take 1/2 to 1 teaspoon x 2-3 times a day, according to their age.

Bronchicum Elixir S syrup should be taken in equal doses at regular intervals throughout the day.

If you take more Bronchicum Elixir S syrup than you should

No special measures are required since no cases of poisoning with Bronchicum Elixir S syrup have ever been reported. In children, when taking larger amounts, it could lead to symptoms of alcohol poisoning. Upon the consumption of the entire quantity of the 100 ml vial, 4.4 g of alcohol are taken respectively.

If you forget to take Bronchicum Elixir S syrup

Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next dose, forget about the missed dose and continue with the prescribed dosage. Never take a double dose to make up for the missed dose.

4. POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS

Like all medicines, Bronchicum Elixir S syrup can cause side effects, although not everyone gets them.

Very rare cases of stomach upset and nausea are possible.

In very rare cases, allergic reactions such as rashes, urticaria, swelling of the face, mouth and / or larynx (Quinche's edema) may occur.

If any of the side effects get serious, or if you notice any side effects not listed in this leaflet, please tell your doctor or pharmacist.

5. HOW TO STORE Bronchicum Elixir S SYRUP

Bronchicum Elixir S syrup should not be used after the expiry date stated on the package.

Store in the original package in a place out of the reach of children.

Shake before use.

Bronchicum syrup contains a plant extract. The appearance of sludge on the bottom of the bottle after long storage does not affect the effects of Bronchicum syrup.

Medicines should not be disposed of via wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of medicines you no longer use. These measures will help protect the environment.

6. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

The active substances are:

Thymi herbae extractum liquidum (1: 2.5) (liquid thyme extract) - 5.0 g;

Primulae radicis extractum liquidum (1: 2 - 2.5) (liquid extract of primrose root) - 2.5 g.

The other ingredients are: sugar syrup, sodium benzoate, purified water.
