Dona sachets x 20 mg 1500

For the treatment of osteoarthritis. For the treatment of disorders of the musculo-skeletal system.

Composition:

 

Each sachet contains:

 

Active ingredient: Crystalline glucosamine sulfate 1884,00 mg equivalent to: 1500,00 mg glucosamine sulfate sodium chloride 384,00 mg.

 

Excipients: Aspartame 2,50 mg, Sorbitol 2028,5 mg, Citric Acid 25,00 mg, Carbowax 4000 10,00 mg

 

Form and content: Powder for oral solution (sachet). Pack of 20 sachets.

 

Indications: Treatment of osteoarthritis symptoms, including pain and functional limitations.

 

Contraindications: hypersensitivity to glucosamine. DONA sachets is contraindicated in patients with phenylketonuria, because of the aspartame in its composition.

 

Precautions: Keep out of reach of children.

 

Warning: In patients with acute liver and kidney failure DONA should be used under medical supervision.

 

Implementation of DONA in the first three months of pregnancy should be avoided. Each bag contains 2028.5 mg of sorbitol. Therefore, the recommended daily dose of DONA is 2028.5 mg of sorbitol. Due to the presence of this component in the formula, the drug is inappropriate for patients with hereditary fructose intolerance.

 

Oral administration of glucosamine sulphate can enhance the gastrointestinal absorption of tetracyclines. reduce the absorption of penicillin or chloramphenicol, co-administered orally. Steroidal or non-steroidal analgesic or anti-inflammatory drugs may be administered simultaneously with DONA.

 

No significant impact on the central nervous system and motor system that can reduce the ability to drive and operate machines.

 

Dosage and administration: Adults and the elderly: The contents of one sachet (dissolved in a glass of water) should be taken once daily, preferably with a meal.

 

Duration of treatment: 12 weeks or longer, if necessary. Short-term clinical studies have shown the optimal efficacy against osteoarthritis symptoms for a period of three months (12 weeks), with residual effects lasting two months after discontinuation of the treatment. This course of treatment can be repeated at intervals of two months, or in the recovery of the symptoms. However, the fundamental studies in continuous (daily) treatment, for more than three years have shown steady improvement of symptoms and delay in the joint space, ie significant radiological changes in osteoarthritis.

 

Children: The safety and efficacy of this product have not been established in children, therefore there is no recommended dosage.

 

Overdose: There are no known cases of accidental or intentional overdose. In the experiments in animals for acute and chronic toxicity, no symptoms of toxicity have been observed, even at very large doses.

 

Adverse drug reactions: Clinical studies have shown good tolerability of glucosamine sulphate. Adverse reactions were observed in a minority of patients. Usually, they were transient, mild and include stomach discomfort, pain, constipation, diarrhea, flatulence and nausea. Hypersensitivity reactions have been reported in some patients and include skin rashes with itching, redness, and bronchial asthma.

 

Special precautions for storage and shelf life: The product should not be used after the expiry date stated on the package. Do not expose to heat.
