FINALGON OINTMENT - 20G. RHEUMATISM MUSCLE JOINT PAIN ARTHRITIS MYAGLA
Finalgon is a combined medication for local application with local irritative action. Nonivamide is synthetic analogue of capsaicin that possesses analgesic properties. The analgesic effect is associated with the affection of nociceptor C-fibers and A-delta-nervous fibers. Nicoboxil exerts direct vasodilative action. Finalgon exerts hyperemia of the skin, accelerates fermentative reactions, activates the metabolism. Finalgon works by increasing blood circulation to the area of application, hence promoting localised warmth and heat to relieve pain. The warming reaction to Finalgon occurs within a few minutes after application and reaches a peak within 20 to 30 minutes.
If you find that Finalgon is too strong for you it can be removed using a cloth soaked in vegetable oil or margarine. Always test a small area first.

Dosage

Apply a small amount to a test area first in order to evaluate your response to the heat produced. Then apply to the affected area.

Which conditions are treated with Finalgon?
Finalgon cream is useful for the temporary relief of pain in cases of:
• Rheumatism
• Muscular aches
• Sprains and Strains
• Arthritis
• Arthralgia and myalgia of rheumatic genesis
• Sports injuries, bruises and damage of the ligament apparatus
• Myalgia caused by excessive physical activity
• Lumbago
• Neuritis
• Ischialgia
• Bursitis and abscess
• Disorders of peripheral circulation (complex treatment)
and other conditions where local warmth is beneficial.

What should a patient know before using Finalgon?
Finalgon should not be used in cases of:
• Dermatosis
• Hypersensitivity to any of the medication ingredients
Finalgon must not be applied on open wounds and burns, skin areas with decreased permeability - neck, stomach, interior surface of the thigh bone.
Avoid contact of Finalgon with the eyes and mucous lining of the nasal and oral cavity. Do not take heat baths after application of Finalgon gel.

Which adverse effects may manifest when using the medication?
The side effects of Finalgon include:
• Allergic reactions: skin rash, skin irritation, itching, urticaria, edema

Which groups of drugs or specific preparations may interact with Finalgon?
The drug is affected by the following:
• Local antiseptics
• Local corticosteroids
• Local antibiotics
• Local NSAID's
• Other local preparations
Tell your doctor about all the herbal preparations as well as prescription drugs that you are currently taking even if they are not on the list.
Important information for the patient: Finalgon is supplied for individual use. Do not use it to treat other conditions not listed in the leaflet. Keep the product out of reach of children. Do not reuse any disposable materials supplied with the preparation.
