Ethanol (alcohol) dramatically reduces the absorption of vitamin B1.
Vitamin B6 affects the degradation of some drugs in the body. High doses of vitamin B6 reduce the effect of levodopa (a drug for the treatment of Parkinson's disease). This vitamin increases the conversion of levodopa, and reduces the therapeutic efficacy. Vitamin B6 antagonize the action of isoniazid (antitubercular drug) and thiosemicarbazone (antivirals); correct anemia caused by antituberculosis agents. The continued adoption of penicillamine (antirheumatic drug) can cause vitamin B6 deficiency. Concomitant administration of vitamin B6 with hydralazine (used to treat high blood pressure) and cycloserine (antitubercular drug) decreases adverse neurological effects associated with taking these drugs. The amount of vitamin B6 in the body decreases by concomitant contraceptives taken orally.
The absorption of vitamin B12 is inhibited by colchicine (for gout), ethanol and neomycin (antibiotic). Antidiabetics bigvanidinoviya type (eg. Metformin), and p-amino salicylic acid, as well as chloramphenicol (antibiotic) and Vitamin C, affect the absorption of vitamins.
