The indications for the use of Smecta are: acute and chronic diarrhea, especially in children. Symptomatic treatment of pain in diseases of the gastrointestinal tract.
1 sachet contains 3 g dioctane smectine.
Effects: Because of the layered structure and high viscosity, the formulation has a strong coating properties in relation to the lining of the gastrointestinal tract. Through interaction with the mucus glycoproteins present in the formulation, the gel increases the strength of the mucosa in aggressive environments. As a result of the mucosal barrier it protects the intestinal mucosa.
Indications: acute and chronic diarrhea, particularly in children. Symptomatic treatment of pain in diseases of the gastrointestinal tract.
Interactions: Do not simultaneously use other drugs because of possible disturbances of absorption. It is necessary to maintain a period of 1.5 hours inbetween intake and eating.
Dosage: Adults. Oral intake, usually 3 sachets per day in 2-3 doses, mixed with 1/2 cup of water; in early treatment of acute diarrhea - you can double the dose. Children - doses of 2-3 (when mixed with 50 ml of water, broth, stewed fruit, etc.). Up to 12 months of age - 1 sachet per day; Between 1-2 years of age - 1-2 sachets a day; Older than 2 years of age - 2-3 sachets a day. In oesophagitis the drug is administered orally after meals. In the case of dehydration the product should be complemented by a sufficient consumption of fluids.
